This striking resort, located in the heart of the Swiss Alps, is so remote the only way to access it is on skis or snowshoes, with your luggage delivered on a snowmobile. There are two Whitepod sites. The smaller of the two is Whitepod Camp, pitched at an altitude of 1400m, consisting of nine pods and a main lodge. The second is the Whitepod Refuge, located at 1800m, which sleeps up to 60 guests and is ideal for corporate use.

With the strongest possible concern for the environment, Whitepod have taken a number of steps to ensure the resort is as eco-friendly as it can be. The pods blend perfectly into the surrounding landscape and they are pitched on a raised platform, so can be taken down at any time without a trace. All the waste generated by the camp is recycled and Whitepod make financial contributions to charities established to protect the local environment.

 

The pods, which serve as surprisingly spacious bedrooms, are furnished with recycled materials and have organic bedding. They are heated by a wood-burning stove and insulated with the latest technology, which keeps them wonderfully toasty day and night. Bathroom facilities and electricity are only available in the main lodge, limiting the energy use.

Whether you are looking for action packed adventure or just gentle discovery, the Refuge offers it all. Set by its own private ski run and serviced by two ski-lifts, you can enjoy the descent at any time of day or night without the queues. Spa treatments and yoga classes are the perfect way to spend an afternoon and, if it's entertainment you desire, iPods are provided pre-loaded with a catalogue of tunes. Team challenges and active discovery programs are exclusively available for groups staying at the Refuge, and are brilliant team bonding exercises.
