If
you are looking for a destination off
the well worn track that can offer some
mystique and the perfect antidote to
big city hussle and bussle then you
should take a look at Jordan.
Although
undoubtedly a little too touristy, a
visit the Petra, with it's rock cut
architecture, is a must when travelling
to Jordan and has held the UNESCO World
Heritage site status since 1985.
Located
just 7km from the main entrance to Petra,
the King Aretas IV luxury camp (pictured
above-right) can accommodate up to 100
guests in it's Bedouin camp and is set
in a truly unique and inspiring location
within the Jordanian desert wilderness.
If you are looking to bring your group
together with no outside distractions
or influences then the remoteness and
beauty of this location is absolutely
for you.
South
of the camp and Petra is the unique
desert location of Wadi Rum with it's
maze of monolithic rock formations rising
from the desert floor. Guests can choose
to simply enjoy the tranquility and
boundless empty space or follow in the
footsteps of Lawrence of Arabia with
a camel safari.
For
the more adventurous, and where budgets
allow, microlight and ultralight flights
as well as hot air balloon experiences
are the perfect way to see the imposing
desert wilderness from above.
